(Top) A 1956 Gibson GA70 Country Western.  Serial # 180014

Note: Gibson serial numbers are believed to have
no numerical order or any significance other than a simple ID#.
The Jensen speaker date code is a more accurate way to determine age order.

Meanwhile check out my BA70 replica of this amp.

Cathode biased 6L6's, paraphase inverter
with similar GA20 style front face single tone
and dual channel volume control panel.
Notice the western style rope on the outer perimeter.
Way cool!

These amps have full, big bottom lows and sparkling highs!
Great tone and great looks!
Here's a pic of another '56 that was emailed to me....
Serial # 180060
Thanks John!

Here is my 1956 GA70 that I bought in July 07'.
Its in rough shape and will need a lot of work.
But since these amps are extremely difficult to find,
I consider myself very lucky since approximately 159
of the 1956 models were ever made and that
it still has its original speaker and transformers!

Serial # 180195, Jensen P15N speaker date code 220632
This amp was manufactured somewhere around late July/early August of 1956.
